Waisea Nacuqu hits 50th tournament
Fiji Airways Fijian 7s star Waisea Nacuqu marked another milestone in his rugby career by reaching the 50th World Rugby Sevens Series tournament today.
The 29-year-old made his 50th tournament appearance in the Series – only Jerry Tuwai and Osea Kolinisau have played more for Fiji. Nacuqu was horned for his achievement as he ran on the field ahead of his teammates and the opponents, Canada at the Singapore 7s.
Fiji Airways Fijian 7s Head Coach Ben Gollings congratulated Wise and said it’s a great individual achievement, especially in the game of 7s which is so highly contested in Fiji.
Gollings said “It’s absolutely fantastic and in this sport, you meet individual landmarks and for Wise, he has been a fantastic performer, and coming here to make his 50th appearance is awesome for him.”
Fiji Airways Fijian 7s players also thanked Wise for being there when needed and at the same time acknowledged him for his contribution to the national team.
