Telecom Fijiana for Oceania 7s

The Fiji Rugby Union has today released the names of the Telecom Fijiana team for the 2016 Oceania 7s Tournament.

The team sees two new girls forcing their way into the team, Asena Yalewalili and Ana Maria Naimasi after an intense four weeks in camp.

FRU CEO, Mr John O’Connor says that this is an indication that there are a lot of female players that are getting interested in the game of rugby.

“The FRU Development Unit has been promoting the game of rugby to girls around the country through the GiR program. With girls now wanting to play, this shows that the interest has intensified and that the pool of female players is starting to grow.”

“Congratulations to those that have been selected for the Oceania tournament and I would like to wish them all the best.”
