Nadroga claims U19 Skipper Cup title

Nadroga won the Under-19 Skipper Cup title defeating Namosi 14-13 in the final at ANZ Stadium in Suva.

It was a great battle between the two sides which started on a high note, coming in with some perfect set-piece and powerful tackles.

The Stallions were first on board scoring a try in the 4th minute through Viliame Nakaiusa.

Namosi replied with a try and two straight penalties to take a 13-7 lead at the break.

The game got intense in the second spell but both teams held their defence tight and gave less room for movement to their opponents.

Sakiusa Vosayaco was the lucky man for Nadroga has he scored Nadroga deciding try.

The hero for Nadroga was Jack Volavola who slotted in the much needed conversion as the Stallions sealed the win.

Nadroga captain Simione Bulai said “After our Senior and Women’s team were out, we just came with one mission that was to win the Under-19 title for our province.”

“We were confident even after being down at first half. I knew my boys will do the job in the second spell and we did it.

This win is for the fans, friends, families and the province of Nadroga who have been behind us through-out this season” said Bulai.
