Five debutantes named for the match against Manu Samoa
FIJI Water Flying Fijians Head Coach Simon Raiwalui has included 12 players in the run on team which also includes four debutantes for the match against Manu Samoa on Saturday in Apia.
Raiwalui said “It’s still a preparation phase for us and we have got a large squad so we want to give everyone the opportunity to play.
We have named a strong squad and we are looking forward to seeing them play.” Eroni Mawi, Tevita Ikanivere, and Luke Tagi will be in the front row while Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta who earned his first cap last week against Tonga off the bench starts at lock together with Isoa Nasilasila.
Meli Derenalagi and Vilive Miramira will make their debut on the flanks guided by the experience of Viliame Mata at number eight.
Simione Kuruvoli starts at half-back while Caleb Muntz retains the number 10 jersey.
Iosefo Masi will debut at the outside center and will be mentored by Semi Radradra who will captain the FIJI Water Flying Fijians against Samoa.
Kalaveti Ravouvou and Seletino Ravutaumada will be on the wings while Ilaisa Droasese debuts at fullback.
Lanky Joseva Tamani will potentially make his debut off the bench.
Raiwalui said “We are very excited for them to as they get their debut run. It’s always an honor to play for your country for the first time.
It’s a huge reward for them and they have played very well this season and deserve this opportunity.” Raiwalui added that he is looking forward to seeing Semi Radradra lead the pack on Saturday.
“Semi is a great leader on and off the field and one of the best professional players I have come across in my time in rugby.
He played very well off the bench last week and we know the qualities Semi has to guide the team” he said.
The FIJI Water Flying Fijians face Manu Samoa at 2pm {FJT} at Apia Park on Saturday.
