Fijiana 7s finishes second while Men’s are placed 4th
The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side finished second after going down 22-7 to Australia in the final at the Dubai 7s today.
The side defeated Great Britain 28-5 to top its pool and set up the fixture against Australia. This was the first time the Fijiana 7s side played at a final of the World Rugby Sevens Series leg.
Australia proved too strong as they ran in four tries to seal the match 22-7.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s side finished 4th in the men’s competition after losing to Argentina in the Bronze play-off.
Argentina ran in three tries while Fiji’s two tries, one each from Panapasa Qeruqeru and Josua Vakurinabili was not enough for the Fijian side to seal the match.
Both sides will reset and come prepared for another week of tournament next weekend in Dubai.
