Fiji Rugby Appoints Naca Cawanibuka as New GM High Performance

Fiji Rugby is proud to announce the appointment of Naca Cawanibuka as the new General Manager – High Performance, a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering Fiji Rugby’s elite performance strategies and athlete development programs.

Cawanibuka is one of Fiji’s most respected and accomplished high-performance professionals. As the former Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Fijian Men’s 7s team, he played a central role in their historic back-to-back Olympic gold medal victories in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

He also worked with the Fiji Drua during their entry into Super Rugby Pacific, and has served as a World Rugby Trainer, sharing his expertise across the region.

He has also been involved in various national team setups, including the Flying Fijians, giving him a broad understanding of performance requirements at the elite level.

His proven track record at the highest levels of the game, combined with his deep understanding of Fijian rugby culture, makes him the ideal person to lead our high-performance department into the next phase.”

Naca Cawanibuka expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating:
