10 rounds for Latui this season with 5 home games

Global Rapid Rugby will feature an inaugural home and away season featuring teams from the Asia Pacific series and Pacific show case series  this season.

The 2020 season will feature six teams with 10 rounds, 31 total games including one off final and $AU 1 Million total prize pool.

Western Force took last years title as they topped both the Asia Pacific and the Pacific show case series last season.

The Fijian Latui were in second place last season in the Pacific Showcase Series while Samoa sits at third place.

This season the Latui will play a total of 10 games with 5 home games which will be held at Churchill Park, Lautoka, Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, and the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

The Latui squad includes a lot of new players this season as mentioned by Latui head coach Senirusi Seruvakula who added that these players are already in the High Performance system ready for selection.

“we are looking at sets of new players again going into the competition and the players are already in the depth chart and we’ll be looking into the players that are available and has what it takes to be part of the team”

Getting the new players to settle in and get them acquainted into the GRR format will be a bit of a setback for Seruvakula as he mentioned that getting the new players into the system is always a challenge until they’ve coped along and that’s when we see the best of these players.

“The challenges are always trying to put the new players in to the system and to get out the best of these players. These players will need to maintain consistency and show their skills”

The competition will begin on Friday, March 13 and reach a crescendo when the top two teams go head-to-head in the Grand Final in Perth, Australia, on June 5 or 6.
