Nagusa ready for Fijian Drua

Overseas based Fijian robust forward Nemani Nagusa underlines the importance of individual progress before team progress in order for his Fijian Drua team competes with the best in the Super Rugby competition next season.

The former Flying Fijian and Fiji 7s representative was tagged the Fijian Drua number four that will last throughout his life in years to come. He was one of the first five players to be named in the team and currently remains as one of the veteran in the team that will drive his young brothers into the Super Rugby Championship against some of the world’s best rugby clubs.

Having the experience of playing in the Premiership Rugby competition in the United Kingdom with the New Castle Falcons, Nagusa is no stranger to the national team. He has represented Fiji in the HSBC World Sevens Series in many tournaments and has capped for the Flying Fijians team in many international test matches.

The former Nadroga backrower is known for his bone crunching tackles and rugged style of playing however he highlighted the Super Rugby Championship is separate book all together and team work will be as effective as individual performances.

“I am honored to be named in the Fijian Drua team to the Super Rugby Championship,” said Nagusa.

“I know it is the first Fijian team to participate in the Super Rugby and I’m humbled and happy to be selected to the Drua team.

Nagusa’s concern is getting the team to gel in the competition vibe and expect the unexpected.

“All the other teams have been competing in the competition for a long time and they know what to expect,” he added.

“But for us one thing we have to do is to prepare well and fully achieve our individual goals and think by doing that we can achieve our team goal.

“Preparing well is the key, physically, mentally and spiritually.”
