The Skipper Cup is Fiji Rugby Union’s national provincial premier rugby union championship. Established in 1963 to mark the Golden Jubilee of the Fiji Rugby Union, it is one of the country’s most prestigious rugby competitions. In the early years, there were six major provinces competing, though that number has slowly increased as rugby has become more developed. The competition follows a round-robin structure, where teams play each other, and the top four advance to the semi-finals, culminating in a final to determine the champion.
There are currently two separate divisions within the Skipper Cup Championship, Senior Men’s and Under 20. The Under 20 division operates parallel to the Senior competition. It is aimed at emphasising development of emerging talent for the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) pathways such as the Fijian Drua and national teams.
Macuata and Vatukoula are the 2 teams to be relegated to the Vodafone Vanua Cup this year after finishing off in the bottom 2 in the 2025 Skipper points table.

Coming in as under-dogs after just qualifying for the 2025 Skipper Cup Competition during the promotion relegation rounds in 2024. Malolo successfully defeated Farebrother Cup champions, Naitasiri 41 to 26 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
2024
However, 2024 Suva failed to retain their title having being defeated by rivals, Nadroga in the final 22 – 17 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
2023
The 2023 Skipper Cup was won by Suva after defeating the previous years champions, Nadi, at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.
