Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027: Most Accessible Tournament in History Unveiled

SYDNEY, July 29, 2025 — A new chapter in global rugby history begins as World Rugby officially unveiled the ticketing programme for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027, promising the biggest and most inclusive tournament to date.

With over 2.5 million tickets set to be released — more than any previous Men’s Rugby World Cup — organizers are aiming to make the 2027 edition in Australia truly a celebration for all.
Ticket prices have been carefully designed with fans in mind. One million tickets will be priced under AUD$100, with adult tickets starting from AUD$40 and children’s tickets from just AUD$20. Entry for children under two will be free.

Two Ways to Get Tickets – Presale and Application Phase
The first chance to secure tickets will come in February 2026 with a presale available to fans who register at rugbyworldcup.com/2027 before January 31, 2026. This exclusive window allows access to all matches and categories.
A general application phase will follow in May 2026, using a ballot system for high-demand tickets to ensure fairness and global access.

Introducing the Superfan Pass
For the most dedicated supporters, World Rugby is introducing a new innovation — the Superfan Pass. Priced at AUD$750, this pass guarantees early access to purchase up to four tickets per match for any of the tournament’s 52 games, including the opening match in Perth and the final in Sydney.
Only 2,027 Superfan Passes will be released globally, going on sale August 5 at 2:00 PM (AEST) via tickets.rugbyworldcup.com. Passes are limited to one per person and are non-transferable.

More Than Just Tickets
Alongside general ticketing, premium experience packages go on sale from July 30, offering exclusive hospitality at eight marquee matches. Ticket-inclusive travel packages — ideal for fans travelling domestically or internationally — will launch in January 2026.
The tournament is also designed with accessibility at its core, with options for wheelchair seating, free companion tickets, and easy-access seating for fans with mobility needs.

RWC 2027 is set to leave a lasting legacy in Australia. With seven host cities, the event is projected to bring in 250,000 international visitors and generate AUD$1.3 billion in direct visitor spending. Organizers also aim to grow rugby participation in Australia to 200,000 registered players by 2029.
The event sits at the heart of a golden decade for rugby in the region, following the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 and ahead of the 2029 edition.
