Skipper Cup competition beefs up.

As the Skipper Cup Competition heads to round three, each teams are now closely knitted to the raising competition level.

The end of round two has indicated that the provincial teams will not let the Skipper Cup slip easily as everyone tightly contest for the prestigious trophy.

Nadi and Naitasiri are locked on 10 points while Suva is in third place with nine points. Namosi and Northland have five points each after bagging a win and a loss while Rewa and Tailevu have 1 points each and defending champions Nadroga sits bottom of the table.

In round three this Saturday, Nadi will face Naitasiri, Namosi meets Suva, Rewa takes on Tailevu, while Northland will battle it out against Nadroga.

Meanwhile Nadi Head coach Ponijese Lou emphasized the high level of the competitions this year.

He said they need to focus on their discipline in order to maintain the lead on the Skipper Cup points table.

“The main focus will be on discipline for us not to give away penalties as any team can take advantage of it, we will need to improve on our discipline and bring our game up as as the competition level continues to rise.”

All games will be played at 3.00pm this weekend at each respective venues (refer to game fixtures)
