Senirusi Seruvakula appointed as Fijiana XVs Head Coach

Fiji Rugby is pleased to announce that after following due process, Fiji Rugby would like to confirm that this morning Senirusi Seruvakula has been offered the position of Head Coach of the Fijiana XVs and if he accepts the offer, he will guide the Fijiana Team to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next year.

Chief Executive John O’Connor said, “It was a tough process and Se-ruvakula with a few others went through an interview process before the final decision was made by the Fiji Rugby Board earlier this month.”

“We have given Senirusi a few days to consider the offer and advise us on his decision, after which the Board and Management will consider the next course of action,” said O’Connor.

The CEO Fiji Rugby while congratulating Senirusi also thanked Ratu Alifereti Doviverata for leading the team to qualification amidst all the diffi-culties and challenges with very limited resources. Ratu Doviverata has led the campaign well and I sincerely thank him for his loyal service to the Team. We have had discussions with Ratu and will continue discussion with him on his ongoing engagement in other capacity with the Fiji Rugby Union.

O’Connor thanked World Rugby and the Government through Fiji National Sports Commission for considering the funding and engagement of a local qualified for such national positions. “We also thank World Rugby and the Fiji National Sports Commission for the allocation of possible funding for the Women’s program to support the Fijiana in their preparation for next year’s World Cup.”

Meanwhile, Fiji Rugby has also confirmed the extension of employment con-tract for Fijiana 7s Head Coach Saiasi Fuli to December 2021, allowing him to lead the team to the Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan next year.
