Fijiana qualified for 2021 RWC

Fiji Airways Fijiana has qualified for the 2021 Women’s Rugby World Cup after beating Manusia Samoa in the final match of the 2019 Oceania Championship.

The win was a very special one as it’s the first time in history for the Fijiana to qualify for the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Fijiana came in with six tries to claim the 41-13 victory over Manusia Samoa.

Aloesi Nakoci scored the first try while Lavinia Cavuru dotted the second one, Lavenia Tinai and Seini Raoma also getting their names on the scoresheet.

Fijiana captain said it was a tough game and they knew Samoa was going to come out hard and tough.

With Fiji qualifying for the first time to a Rugby World Cup, Leweniqila said she was very grateful and humbled.

“The feeling is still sinking in as its history in the making,” she said. “I just want to thank the girls and hats off to them for all the work.

Samoa has previously played in the RWC and still have a chance to make to 2021 RWC. They will now face either Tonga or Papua New Guinea for the right to enter the global repechage that will determine the 12th and final qualifier for RWC 2021.
