Northern Hemisphere wrap up

Since the World Cup campaign ended back in October, most of our players playing in the Northern Hemisphere returned back to their clubs and has been putting out some impressive performance.

Northampton Saints have signed hooker Sam Matavesi with immediate effect, Sam was instrumental in the Flying Fijians squad at the World Cup and this will be his first Gallagher Premiership, after spending the last season in France with Toulouse.

Semi Radradra was an ex factor at the RWC, Radradra who currently plays for Bordeaux Bègles in the French Top 14 has signed a three-year deal at Ashton Gate for the Bristol Bears until 2023/24.

Radradra will join up with his new teammates ahead of the 2020/21 season.


There were also some troubles associating a player as Flying Fijian second rower Leone Nakarawa was sacked by his Top 14 club Racing 92 after he returned from the World Cup in Japan two weeks late due to some family commitment.

Tex Cavubati and Vereniki Goneva joined Semi Kunatani as they signed for Herlequines from their relegated Newcastle Falcons club.

Levani Botia continues with his powering play with La Rochell raking in 59 meters, 22 carries with 5 total points, while Peceli Yato sits in the TOP 14 top tries with 2 tries.

Filipe Nakosi continue to impress his new club Castres Olympique with 108 running meters, 14 carries, 13 defenders beaten and 2 clean breaks while Api Ratuniyarawa has been making waves with his Northampton Saints Club since returning from RWC, coming in with 60 meters 12 carries, 12 tackles and 1 try.

Heineken Championship will have 19 clubs qualifying for the 2020/21 Champions Cup with three highest ranked clubs from each conference in the Guinness PRO14 directly qualifying, and the fourth-ranked clubs from each conference will play off for the seventh place.

The six highest-ranked clubs based on their final finishing positions will qualify for the TOP 14, and the Gallagher Premiership Rugby for 2020/21 season.
