Fijiana 7s Regroup and Refocused for Cape Town Challenge

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team has renewed their focus and are ready to ignite the HSBC SVNS stage this weekend following a determined week of preparation for the Cape Town 7s in South Africa.
While the Dubai leg presented challenges, the squad displayed formidable flashes of their potential against top-tier opponents. To sharpen their readiness for the rapid turnaround of the series, the team engaged in high-intensity training sessions this week.
Head Coach Richie Walker arranged a valuable scrimmage against the South African women’s 7s team at their high-performance training base. “We got some feedback from playing in Dubai, and we’re happy about that scrimmage to put some work-ons in place.”
Coach Walker emphasized the importance of maintaining intensity, particularly with a rematch against the USA on the horizon. “We feel like if we get complacent because we beat USA last week, they’re going to come back for revenge, and we know that.”
The Fijiana 7s face a demanding schedule in Pool A, with all three matches condensed into Saturday night (Fiji Time). Their campaign begins against the USA at 8.44pm, followed by a clash with Great Britain at 12.00am (Sunday morning), and concludes with their final pool match at 3.48am.
The nation can rally behind the Fijiana 7s by watching every match LIVE on FBC TV. For full tournament coverage, Sky Pacific will broadcast all the action from the second leg of the HSBC SVNS Series.
