The story behind Bolaca’s achievement

The ‘If you’re tired……don’t tired’ catch phrase by Olympic gold medalist Napolioni Bolaca became a famous quote filled with jokes and laughter and even used by National Rugby League super star Viliame Kikau written on his arm strap during the grand final last month after the Penrith Panthers edged the Melbourne Storms.

How does Bolaca come up with such ideas and quotes? Well that is not the concern, what he wanted to tell was never to stop trying and keep the faith alive until you have achieved your goal.

The Fiji 7s team playmaker has written his name in the history book as an Olympian and a gold medalist that only a special individual accomplishes throughout the world in every four years.

Now the Wadigi 7s team product has been named as Fijian Drua number a team which will we start its sail in the Super Rugby Pacific next year.

“I am honored and happy to be part of the Drua team for the Super Rugby competition,” said Bolaca.

“I thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity and I will deliver to the best of my ability and continue to learn and grow in the sport.

Bolaca was not the academic type during his school days and didn’t complete his high school but he knew he had a God gifted talent that would pave his future despite his education background.

“God gave everyone a talent but it’s a matter of discovering yours and I am thankful that he gave me this gift to be a rugby player,” he said.

“If you’re tired , dont tired applies in all aspects of life, in school, at the playground and throughout your life, never give up easily.

His father Apimeleki Nasalo remembers how Bolaca preferred rugby and farming over education and now he knows it was his calling.

“Everyone’s gifted with a talent and not everyone’s perfect in education and Bolaca has always been that someone during his school days, where he prefers to be in the farm rather than school but God had a plan for him,” said Nasalo.

“He wasn’t really good with his school work. Neither was interested in playing during his school days but he loved to take care of the cattle at home and he loved farming but at the same time he followed the team around as a waterboy.

He attended Viwa District School in his primary school education then he joined Lautoka Andhra Sangam College” said Nasalo.
