Seniyasi in her best form for Naitasiri

Naitasiri Women’s half-back Tokasa Seniyasi hopes to make it into the Fiji Airways Fijiana squad for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next year.

Seniyasi has been a star for the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s scoring some amazing tries during the 2019/2020 season.

With her try scoring abilities and perfect kicking between the sticks the Gau lass has been a throne for the opponents in the Skipper Cup this season scoring 9 tires in the seven matches she has played.

Seniyasi said “I love playing 15’s rugby and with the support of the girls by my side I have been doing a great job on the field.”

She was part of the Fijiana side which qualified for the Rugby World Cup at the Oceania Championship in Lautoka in September 2019.

“I’m proud to say I was part of the team which qualified for the World Cup.

“With women’s rugby developing and surrounded by so many talented players, getting into the national team once again will be tough” said Seniyasi.

The challenge for the young Fijiana player will be balancing her 7s rugby with the 15’s if the HSBC Women’s Series kicks off next year together with Olympic Games.

Seniyasi said “I know it’s not an easy task balancing two different versions of rugby but with the help of our 7s Coach Saiasi Fuli and others I could manage it.”

She added “I want to play in my first ever Olympic Games and also represent Fiji in its first World Cup outing but I will leave this to the coaches and other officials.”

Despite slipping to third place on the Women’s Skipper Cup table, Seniyasi believes her side can bounce back and record some big wins against other opponents.
