MARKETING & LOGISTIC ASSISTANT
The Fiji Rugby Union (‘FRU’) is based in the Nation’s capital of Suva and administers the sport of Rugby Union over the Nation’s 14 provinces. The major responsibility of FRU is to continuously develop and improve processes by enabling pathways from “grass root” level to elite, professional level, and national level. FRU endeavors to enhance players’ and officials’ competencies locally and internationally.
An exciting opportunity exists within the Fiji Rugby Union, and we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, agile, and self-motivated for the following position:
- MARKETING & LOGISTIC ASSISTANT
The Marketing & Logistic Assistant will be responsible for the various marketing campaigns and logistics of the team Kits, monitoring the effectiveness of these marketing campaigns.
Reporting to Managers Sales & Broadcast, the position will actively oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, assist in enhancing return on investment to our Sponsors and ensure continuity in communication. The role will also be responsible for establishing a distinctive brand and image of FRU, ensuring that the industry standards are adhered to while advertising and branding a product.
Key Accountabilities Include:
Marketing Role
- Coordinating with our media partners and other stakeholders (External (FBC, FIJI TV, FIJI SUN ETC) and Internal Operations, Media, Creative Content Producer) for Advertising of upcoming sporting events.
- Planning Promotional Campaigns to Promote Women in Rugby
- Actively coordinating with Development Unit and HPU on Women empowerment engagements.
- Working with Manager Sale + Broadcast on special project in generating money towards women’s Rugby.
- Coordinating with Women’s Media officer on Creating Women in Rugby social media Pages and You Tube.
- Ensuring that Sponsors logos are correctly printed on kits, banners, and posters at the events.
- Establishing athletes as brand ambassadors for popular, relevant brands.
- Researching marketing trends and innovations.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with brand representatives.
- Coordinating with Respective Team Managers for Sponsor Activations
- Planning Launches for events and Sponsor Functions.
- Ensuring that all benefits are provided to each sponsor of FRU, per the benefits schedule in the contract.
- Ensuring all Sponsors receive complimentary tickets and accreditations on time.
- Coordinating with Internal Media on Event awareness.
Logistic Role
- Facilitation of requirements for kit orders, Local and international.
- Constantly Following Up on the orders from our Supplier’s Local and International to ensure our teams receive their kits in timely manner.
- Ensuring all kits provided to the Teams are properly branded.
- Coordinate with Finance and respective Team Managers for distribution to the teams in a timely manner.

- Proven experience as logistics and marketing
- Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication
- Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent customer service and client relations skills
- Keep organization and time management skills
- Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use computers, software and other technology for inventory and communication purposes.
Qualification, Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
- Degree in media studies, public relations, commercial or equivalent
- Minimum experience (2- 3 years) in communications and marketing, corporate communications, media, or PR
- Experience working as part of a high-profile corporate, sporting, or major event organization
- Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated marketing expertise
- Proven experience as a writer or editor, or in written communications
- Well-developed negotiation skills
- Thought leadership, strategic thinking & planning, strong analytical ability and sound commercial judgment and decision-making
- Flexible and adaptable
- Can-do attitude
