SPOTLIGHT ON PNC – TEAM CANADA

The Canadian Canucks will come to Fiji for the 2019 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup as a powerful build up in their preparations towards the Rugby World Cup.

Head Coach Kingsley Jones is looking forward to seeing his player combine and put into action the work they’ve been doing at Al Charron National Training Centre back home.

“The PNC is a great team building effort and an exercise in building continuity and cohesion going into the World Cup” said Jones.

Jones added that there’ll be plenty of learning that the group will achieve out of the the three test series.

“There are exciting games coming up and we’ll find out a lot about each other.”

Canada meet USA in the first round before arriving into Fiji on the 30 of July to face the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians on the third of August in Suva.

Canada last met the Flying Fijians back in 2017 where they lost 57-17, and this will be their chance to hit back as they have been preparing hard towards the tournament.

Jones some experienced campaigners to Fiji for the PNC including the likes of Tyler Ardron with 31 caps who also plays for Chiefs.

Gloucester fullback Daniel Tailliferre Hauman will also be part of the team and will surely be an impact and Kyle Baillie who is their leading points scorer this season and in some solid form coming into the tournament.

Canada will take on the Flying Fijians on the third of August at the ANZ Stadium, Suva before going up against Tonga on the ninth August at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
