The Fiji Rugby Union is seeking to
appoint the Head Coach of the Fijian Under 18 National School Boys team.
The National School Boys Team have been officially invited through the Fiji Rugby Union to play against the New Zealand Maori School Boys, Australian School Boys, New Zealand School Boys and the New Zealand Barbarians School Boys from the 22nd of September 2019 to 4th October 2019.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As the Head
Coach of the Fiji National Under 18 Team you will:
- Provide overall leadership of the team, and guide it
- Develop & implement game plans to field performance
- Develop tactical and technical playing strategies, as
well as review and analyse team performance
- Monitor and assess player performances to assist in
team selection (as per the National Selection Guidelines) Recommend
individual players that can become a part of our elite national teams’
- Recommend individual players that can become a part of
our elite national teams’ representation
- Ensuring alignment with the Flying Fijians
technical/tactical priorities and associated playing style and structure as set
by the Flying Fijians Head Coach.
- Working in partnership with the High Performance
program, including Test Coach, Elite Player Pathway Manager and General Manager
Requirements and Qualifications
coaching experience and expertise at provincial level or higher
strong understanding of High Performance & Rugby environments.
to use holistic player development methods that consider each player’s welfare
to create a safe, inclusive environment for all players and staff
leadership and communication skills
to use performance analysis software and apply it in competition.
track record of developing rugby athletes, as well as the capability of those
who work with you.
note that the successful candidate MUST be:
to work harmoniously as a member of and within the FRU High Performance Unit.
to undertake a police background check and provide 2 community references.
to honor Rugby’s values, in particular Respect for cultural, gender, ethnic and
of World Rugby Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
of 2-3 years provincial coaching experience in Fiji or overseas
valid Fijian Passport with 6 months’ expiry
ability and willingness to travel both domestically & internationally
based & reports to the General Manager – Rugby
