Fijiana 7s progressing to new heights

Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s finished eighth at the Cape Town Sevens after an exceptional performance over the weekend.

Fijiana opened their pool game with an impressive 38-19 victory over Russia at Cape Town Stadium on Friday.

The girls displayed a well improved structure play on their second pool game against New Zealand where they scored 2 tries each, Fijiana almost snatch their second win but fell short 12-10.

Their game against New Zealand really showed how they’ve improved on most aspects of their game, they followed their structure well, came up with clinical play, support play was on track while their defensive line was up and steady.

On their last pool game, they executed pretty well against an invitational South African team running in with 4 tries.

Fijiana reached their second quarter final of the 2019-20 HSBC 7s Series at Cape Town but couldn’t manage to go through to the semis after going down to Australia 38-7.

Fijianas outstanding progress into the 2019-20 HSBC Sevens Series shows all hard work being put in from players and managements in trying to climb up another level on the HSBC Sevens Series while also focusing on 2020 Rio Olympics.

Fijiana will be returning back from Cape Town on Wednesday where they’ll go on a short Christmas break before rejoing camp after Christmas to prepare for next leg which is Hamilton Sevens on 26-27 January 2020.
