Fiji to fly with their best in the West.

This Saturday’s final round of the June Test Series will be another vital opportunity for John McKee and his coaching panel to challenge his chargers against Test Match intensity as the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians look to take a clean sweep from the international series window.

With the Rugby World Cup a not too distant focus, every match counts towards invaluable experience for the Fijian squad, who have already debuted five new players and continue to develop fearsome combinations across the park.

Each of the debutants, Eroni Mawi, Alivereti Veitokani, Semi Radradra, Tuvere Vugatoka and Sevanaia Galalala have impressed on debut in the white jersey.

Following two intense battles against Samoa and Georgia, the playing squad has recovered well, with a solid days training under belt, and are ready for a physical encounter this weekend against Tonga.

The depth of the Fijian squad and the continued elevation in professionalism and on-field consistency has been a highlight for the Fijian fans this June Test Series, but for a coach and playing list determined to continue to make an impact for Fiji, there is always room for improvement.

Against Georgia, the flamboyant home side scored six tries in their convincing win however Head Coach McKee believes there were plenty opportunities left on the pitch at the expense of handling and execution lapses.

Something the squad are already rectifying on the training pitch this week.

Rugby fans in the west will be hoping to witness more of the electricity in the devastating offloads, huge tackles and exciting lines of Nakarawa, Nadolo, Goneva and Senilolo we’ve seen all series.

For those players from the West returning to play in front of their friends and families this Saturday’s match is something quite special.

It has been a few years since the Flying Fijians have been to Churchill Park, so with a squad fit and ready for action and keen to finish the June Test Series on a high, we know this Saturday’s game is sure to be a an absolute firecracker.
