Fiji Rugby’s 2021 Calendar now on sale

The Fiji Rugby branded 2021 calendar goes on sale from today with the income generated to go towards the Fijian 7s team preparing for the Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan next year.

FRU Chief Executive John O’Connor said with COVID-19 being a threat to preparations, we have decided to explore other options in-order to support the preparation of the defending champions in their efforts to defend their gold medal at the Olympics Games.

Mr O’Connor said “We have printed the calendar in batches and our first set of ten thousand calendars are ready to go on sale.”

He added “We would like to thank Powerade, Fiji Water, Bula FM, Swire Shipping, Subrails, EduCare, Fiji Bitter, The Hot Bread Kitchen and Mobil for assisting with the production costs.”

The Fiji Rugby CEO added that fans can purchase the 2021 calendar either from Fiji Rugby House, On the Go Mobil Service Stations, The Hot Bread Kitchen or at any of the Subrail’s outlet within Viti Levu by end of this week.

Fijian 7s Coach Gareth Baber said it is a timely boost as they are looking at all kinds of avenues to help them put together the best Fijian team to take part at next year’s Olympic Games.

Baber said, “We want to repeat history next year and that ultimately comes with a cost for resourcing these players to go and do what we do around the world.”

He added “the calendar is a way to remind yourselves just where we are at certain points during the season.”

“I’m hopeful that if you contribute in some small way for the calendar then it will help us in our journey towards defending Fiji’s 7s gold medal in Tokyo next year,” said Baber.

The fans can purchase the calendar for $3.
