Discipline still an issue: Sorovaki

Fiji Rugby Operations Manager Sale Sorovaki has raised concerns on the discipline of players in the second leg of the Super Sevens Series in Nadi last weekend.

Despite the intensity and physicality in nearly all the matches, there were stills areas of plays where the players lacked discipline forcing the match referees dish out yellow and red cards.

“Overall it was a good but there were still some concerns regarding the high number of yellow cards and red cards,” said Sorovaki.

“Hopefully we can see the intensity of the games and the decrease in terms of yellow and red cards.

However, Sorovaki has seen consistency and improvements in the players’ performances after the second leg last weekend.

“I think it was a big step up from the first leg at Lawaqa Park and most teams prepared well and comes with much better mindset compared to the first Leg in Sigatoka last month.

“You can see in the games it has moved up the notch and for us at Fiji Rugby in terms in delivering the event.”

The next tournament will be held at Ratu Ganilau Park on March 19-20 in Savusavu, Vanua Levu.
