Fiji Rugby Vacancy: Finance Officer

The Fiji Rugby Union (‘FRU’) is based in the Nation’s capital of Suva and administers the sport of Rugby Union over the nation’s 14 provinces. The major responsibility of FRU is to continuously develop and improve processes by enabling pathways from “grass root” level to elite, professional level and national level. FRU endeavors to enhance players’ and officials’ competencies locally and internationally.

An exciting opportunity exists within the Fiji Rugby Union and we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, agile and self-motivated for the following positions:

 FINANCE OFFICER
Principal Accountabilities:

  • Present a highly professional image when representing the FRU.
  • Process payments and data entry into Xero
  • Experience in computerised accounting will be highly desirable
  • Compiling Vat, PAYE, FNPF.
  • Debtors & Creditors Reconciliation
  • Stock Recording and Monitoring
  • Reconciliation of cash advances & Petty Cash.
  • Attending to vendor queries in timely manner
  • Establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Effective team member with sufficient flexibility and willingness to take on roles outside his/her normal functional responsibility when required.
  • Perform duties within company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Able to work extended hours if required and meet deadlines.
  • Highly reliable, accurate, energetic, and able to handle the correspondence independently and analytically.
  • Understanding of relevant financial legislation policies and procedures
  • Performs other financial activities as required

        Qualification, Knowledge, and Skill Requirement:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or any other relevant field of Study
  • Valid driving license.
  • Experience with basic bookkeeping procedures and financial transactions.
  • Knowledge in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable will be an added advantage.
  • Attention to detail, a friendly personality, and professionalism are a must for this role
  • Must have a good command of English (Both written and oral) and good report writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheet and accounting software programs.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team-oriented environment.
  • At least 2 to 4 years’ experience in relevant field
