Macuata overpowered Cakaudrove North thanks in part to a hat-trick of tries to Peniasi Rabuli. However the Macuata coaching staff will be a little miffed with theirteam’s second half performance which they lost 12-5. However to their credit their strong first half performance meant the Macuata players could afford to take their foot of the rugby accelerator during the second period.

Interestingly enough Macuata remains the only team to have played in games where no cards – red or yellow – have been issued.

After having struggled somewhat in their opening encounter against Cakaudrove North, it was a solid performance from the side from the Hidden Paradise as Savusavu ran over a hapless Wailevu team 46-3.

After picking up ten points against Cakaudrove North, flyhalf Kitione Kamikamica added another 16 points to take him to the top of the points scorers’ table.

Savusavu will now meet Macuata on Saturday, the winner progressing to the B Division semi-finals.
