Stallions 14 Sharks 18
A penalty try on the stroke of full-time at Lawaqa Park saw the Sharks dump defending champions, the Stallions, 18-14 in Round Four of the Colonial Cup on Saturday.

The win takes the Sharks to second in the standings and almost guarantees them a spot in the semi-finals, whilst the Stallions must now defeat the Crusaders next week to avoid the ignominy of being knocked out early.

The Sharks dotted down a try and a dropped goal in the first spell to lead 8-6 at the breather. But the hosts returned in the second spell crossing over for a try and a penalty goal to take the lead 14-8.

Naitasiri fly-half Amani Bosenawai kicked another three-pointer in the 72nd minute to narrow the deficit 14-11. Though time was not on their side the Sharks remained cool-headed into the last five minutes of play. And this paid off when they were awarded a penalty try a minute from full-time. Bosenawai converted the try to seal the win.

Quotes:
Joji Rinakama (Stallions coach):
“Our boys made a lot of mistakes and took wrong options but the Sharks played a good game. The Sharks really played well especially Amani Bosenawai.”

Ifereimi Tawake (Sharks coach):
“The boys played according to the game plan. We attacked the Stallions in their own half and I must also praise our defence and the fact we played good 80-minute game.”
