Exciting fullback with a useful try-scoring record, Jone Waqa was Brad Johnstone's first choice fullback for nearly four years before an Achilles injury ruled him out for the whole of 1999. Nicknamed "The General", he first represented Nadroga in 1989 and made a late comeback in 2006 to help them regain the Sullivan-Farebrother Trophy.
He returned to the Test side for the November 2001 tour to Europe.
