Sam Tabua joined the Highlanders for the 2005 Colonial Cup and forced his way into the senior squad after a good showing for the Fiji A. Useful at the breakdown as the ball hunter with good battling qualitits. Disappeared in 2006 but returned to help Crusaders reach the Colonial Cup final the following year.
