Pio Tuwai, has been identified as a player with limitless potential. He is a good line-out jumper and is good in aerial tussle. The 24-year-old was part of the Digicel Fiji Barbarians 7s team that took part in the Uruguay 7s this year. He has also been a regular feature in the BP 7s provincial competition for Ba River and the PWD Bure. He played for Ba in the BP Lautoka 7s in November 2008 where they finished in the semi-finas. He was part of the 2008 Hong Kong extended training squad. Tuwai is the son of former rep Gabirieli Naborisi.

He was injured prior to the Wellington 7s and sat out the tournament. William Rasileka was brought in as his replacement. He fully recovered and continued with the team to San Diego where he performed to expectations. 

Tuwai was impressive during the outing to earn the nod into the National squad to the Rugby World Cup 7s in Dubai.
