28 August, 2008
Fiji Rugby Union senior operations officer Aporosa Tuqovu confirmed Thursday that contrary to media reports the decision to call off the Island Zone pool match between Totoya and Naceva last Friday (22/08) was made by the respective team managers and not the Fiji Rugby Union. The Totoya rugby team bus was involved in an accident in Lami Village on their way to their Island Zone match with Naceva early Friday morning. As a result some of their players were admitted to the hospital. Totoya team manager Iliesa Waqa arrived at the games venue in Laucala requesting for the game to be deferred or to be played at a later time in the day.
