Sharks aim for first win Underline 28 February, 2008
The Sharks claimed a dramatic 17-17 draw with the Bligh Roosters in their Colonial Cup opener at Garvey Park last Saturday, a week after they were beaten by Knights 36-21 in the pre-season. With their best players now available and having home advantage playing at Ganilau Park in Savusavu, the Sharks will look to reverse the scoreline against the Knights in the second round this Saturday.

The Sarks have also made changes. The most notable made in the halves combination with coach Ifereimi Tawake opting for Netani Koroi and Semisi Talebula who were outstanding last weekend off the bench. Talebula contributed much needed points in the draw against the Roosters whilst Koroi set up some promising moves which unfortunately lacked the finishing touches.

Kolinio Vasuilagi retains the captaincy role.

The Knights looked good against last year’s finalists the Crusaders in their opening game. Had the clock gone on for another 10 minutes they may have earned themselves a win.

They have skipper Senirusi Seruvakula back this week and will go into the game in the knowledge that they have never lost to the Sharks. Also making a return is Farebrother top points scorer James Vuli at fly-half, taking over from rookie Ravai Fatiaki who has been shifted to mend the inside centre’s berth in place of Wate Vocevoce.

The 2007 B Division player of the year Livai Suguta starts at outside centre ahead of Saula Radidi with Timoci Nagusuca starting at left wing. The only change in the front row is in the form of Sakeo Latianara coming in for Remesio Ravuiwasa at tighthead.

The match will kick off at 3.00pm at Savusavu’s Ganilau Park on Saturday 1 March, 2008. Tickets are $5 for adults, and free for children under 12.
