The Air Pacific Fiji Warriors will host the Tautahi Gold under floodlights at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Friday 18 April to kick off the 2008 IRB Pacific Rugby Cup, while the Air Pacific Fiji Barbarians take on Savai’i Samoa at Marist Stadium in Apia.

Following a thoroughly competitive seven weeks of Colonial Cup, the Barbars and Warriors will look for improved finishes in the PRC from last year when they ended up fourth and fifth, respectively.

The Barbarians’ first home match comes in Round 2 when they host Upolu Samoa at Churchill Park on Friday 25 April, while the Warriors play their first away game at Prince Edward Park against Savai’i Samoa.

In the final round, the PRC will go north to Subrail Park in Labasa for the first time for the local derby between the Barbars and the Warriors.

The PRC follows the completion of the Colonial Cup, Samoa’s NPC and Tonga’s Provincial Championship, providing the three national coaches with a competitive player development pathway ahead of the IRB Pacific Nations Cup, which kicks off in June.
