Coach Alivereti Dere has named a strong starting lineup for Digicel Fiji’s first game against Zimbabwe at the Glasgow 7s in Scotland tomorrow. 

Captain Setefano Cakau will be joined by Jimilai Naikadawa and Waisea Nayacalevu in the forwards while Joji Ragamate starts at scrumhalf alongside playmaker, Metuisela Talebula. 

Making his debut for this season at rover will be Isake Katonibau with Joeli Lutumailagi on the wing. The reserves are Levani Botia, Timoci Vakadranu, Niko Verekauta, Iliai Tinai and Isikeli Vuruna. The team rounded off their training session yesterday and will have a Captains run this morning. 

Team Manager Semi Rogoyawa says the team are ready to perform. 

“There are no injuries in the squad so far and that there has been a lot of support from the local community in Scotland,” Rogoyawa said. 

“Team morale is high and the boys are looking forward to the tournament this weekend.” 

Fiji takes on Zimbabwe in their first pool match at 10.36 PM tomorrow (Fiji time), before tackling Portugal at 1.42 AM and Argentina at 5.37 AM on Sunday.
