Vunibola starts in Dubai, Tuwai and Nava on bench Underline 01 December, 2011 As he did last weekend, in Australia, Digicel Fiji 7s coach Alivereti Dere has named 39 year old Senivalati Vunibola to start in Digicel Fiji’s opening clash against Argentina in the Dubai 7s. However there’s no place in the starting line-up for new players Pio Tuwai and Ameniasi Nava as Dere opts to stick with the tried and tested players that won Fiji the Gold Coast 7s last weekend.

Dere has appointed the hardworking Watisoni Votu as skipper with scrumhalf Emosi Vucago named as vice-captain. The starting line-up for Fiji’s opening game against Argentina is:

1. James Brown, 2. Watisoni Votu (c), 3. Senivalati Vunibola, 4. Emosi Vucago (vc), 5. Livai Ikanikoda, 6. Osea Kolinisau, 7. Joeli Lutumailagi

Reserves - 8. Pio Tuwai, 9. Ameniasi Nava, 10. Semi Radradra, 11. Mitieli Nacagilevu, 12. Sitiveni Waqa

Meanwhile all 16 nations set to compete in the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens have declared their final squads, with England coach Ben Ryan handing an HSBC Sevens World Series debut to young playmaker Christian Lewis-Pratt, top scorer in the FIRA European Grand Prix over the summer.

The only squads unchanged from round 1 on the Gold Coast are Samoa, Kenya, USA and Wales.

South Africa have called up Branco du Preez in the place of the injured IRB Sevens Player of the Year, Cecil Afrika. William Small-Smith also makes a first appearance of the season for the Boks.

In other changes, Argentina bring in Agustin Migliore; Australia give run-outs to Hamish Angus and Jesse Parahi; Fiji recall Pio Tuwai and Aminiasi Nava Kuruinovo; France add Steve Barry; New Zealand recall Ben Souness and Scotland call up Mark Cairns.

Sevens stars fly around world's tallest building

In the run-up to round 2 of the Series in Dubai, three of the stars of the shortened game, South Africa captain Kyle Brown, Wales captain Richie Pugh and Fiji's Osea Kolinisau got a bird's eye view of Dubai by helicopter in the second 'Sevens: Around the World' chapter.
