Referee becomes Digicel ambassador

Digicel Fiji today announced their new brand ambassador James Bolabiu at their Business Lounge in Suva.
Internationally rated referee James Bolabiu had his first taste officiating an international match when the International Rugby Board appointed him to officiate the final match in the IRB Under 19 World Cup Finals in Belfast, Ireland in 2007.
In 2008, Mr Bolabiu refereed in the Pacific Nations Cup final match between Australia and New Zealand Maori in Sydney, Australia. In the same year, he was named the youngest and the only referee from the Pacific region to be officiating at IRB level when he refereed the IRB Hong Kong Sevens final between New Zealand and South Africa.
In 2009, he was awarded the Sports Personality Award for the FASANOC Fiji Sports Awards. Mr Bolabiu was also the first referee from the Pacific region to officiate in the IRB Sevens World Cup Plate Finals in Dubai.

James Bolabiu enters the hall of ambassadors for the Digicel brand beside Fiji athlete Banuve Tabakaucoro, Fiji Paralympic Athlete Iliesa Delana and Fiji swimmer Tieri Erasito.
