Former Digicel Fiji 7s player Mitieli Nacagilevu was discharged from hospital yesterday. Nacagilevu was injured during the Marist 7s in March this year after going down in an awkward tackle which resulted in the dislocation of two bones in his neck.
Nacagilevu was admitted at the CWM hospital where his neck has been kept immobilized for six weeks.
Fiji Rugby Union medical official Dr Emosi Taloga revealed that upon being discharged Nacagilevu was issued with a cervical collar to ensure he has the means to keep his neck in a stable position.
“He will need to keep this on for another six weeks, and after that he will have to come in and be reviewed by the physio and myself” Dr Taloga said.
He also said that in terms of recovery, Nacagilevu will need to rest and ensure he uses the cervical collar at every opportunity.
“We will continue to review and monitor him and hopefully he will make a full recovery in time” Taloga added.
