Flying Fijians team versus Scotland named
13 November, 2009
Flying Fijians head coach Glen Ella today named 12 overseas based players in his starting fifteen to take on Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Among them are Llanelli Scarlets prop Deacon Manu and 19 year old Exeter Chiefs player Josh Matavesi both of whom will earn their first caps for the Flying Fijians.
"Obviously the overseas based players are the ones who've got runs on the board, they're the ones who've been performing week in and week out at the highest levels of the game and they've done enough during training to convince Sam (Domoni), Mike (Brewer) and myself that they deserve to start," Ella said.
The three local based players in the starting line-up are prop Alefoso Yalayalatabua, hooker Viliame Veikoso and number eight Asaeli Boko.
On the bench Graham Dewes is the lone overseas based player.
Ella has named outstanding inside centre Seremaia as captain of the team.
"Bai is an experienced player who is currently in a rich vein of form and I believe he will be an excellent leader."

Team selection "We've picked a side that will exploit Scotland's weaknesses and a side that will win us the game."
Experience "We've got a very experienced midfield in 9, 10 and 12 but our scrum is going to have to work very hard to contain the Scotland pack."
Weather We're concerned about the weather and we may have to adjust our game plan should conditions deterioate.
Seremaia Bai, Captain Honour "It's not an easy job but at the same time I'm very excited to lead a pretty young team and it's a real honour to captain the national side."
Dream It's something I would never have dreamed of, it's a big task and a big ask with a lot of responsibility but i'll try and just get on with the job."
