Taking into account injuries and suspensions Flying Fijians head coach Sam Domoni has today named his strongest possible team for Friday’s Test against the All Blacks.
It will be a massive day for Rotuma’s Ravai Fatiaki who, after impressing during the Pacific Nations Cup, has earned a call up into the starting line-up against the best side in the world.
“I’m thrilled to have been given this opportunity and I go out onto the field representing my family, my village and the people of Fiji,” Ravai said.
“We’re up against the best team in the world but, as Samoa showed last Sunday, nothing is impossible if we have the heart and the trust to believe in each other and in our abilities then nothing can hold us back.”
With Nicky Little injured and Waisea Luveniyali suspended it means Seremaia Baikeinuku mans the flyhalf spot with the recalled Taniela Rawaqa as cover on the bench.
One late change to the side sees veteran lock forward Ifereimi Rawaqa pulling out due to sickness and replaced by Nadroga’s feisty loose-cum-lock forward Rupeni Nasiga.
The full team to play the All Blacks in Dunedin this Friday is as follows:
1. Campese Ma’afu, 2. Sunia Koto, 3. Deacon Manu (c), 4. Sekonaia Kalou, 5. Rupeni Nasiga, 6. Dominiko Waqaniburotu, 7. Akapusi Qera, 8. Sakiusa Matadigo, 9. Nemia Serelevu, 10. Seremaia Baikeinuku, 11. Napolioni Nalaga, 12. Ravai Fatiaki, 13. Albert Vulivuli, 14. Timoci Nagusa, 15. Iliesa Keresoni
Reserves: 16. Viliame Veikoso, 17. Setefano Somoca, 18. Josefa Domolailai, 19. Malakai Ravulo, 20. Vitori Buatava, 21. Taniela Rawaqa, 22. Vereniki Goneva
