The Fiji Rugby Union Development Unit today secured 30 rugby balls from Digicel to help in hosting the first ever Fiji Rugby Kaji Rugby Skills Camp in Suva.
This event will take place on the 10th of May at Buckhurst Park from 8am till 4pm and hopes to attract children aged 6-14 who will be on school holidays.
FRU Development Manager Sale Sorovaki believes it’s important young players learn the correct skills.
“It’s important our young rugby players get taught the proper skills and techniques of the game as early as possible as this will form a firm foundation for them to progress and perform at the highest possible level as they grow and develop,” Sorovaki said.
As much as the skills camp is a development tool every participant taking part will go home with a t-shirt and a ball provided by the sponsors to ensure they are able to continue to up-skill themselves when the camp is over.
“Apart from the t-shirt and ball all those who register on the day can expect to return to school in the second term with a lot of new skills and ideas learnt from this camp,” Sorovaki added.
Anyone interested in knowing more details on the camp may contact the FRU Development Manager directly on (679) 7071003.
