Europe Diary Day 7 - Another day, another player
12 November, 2009
Well another day and another player, albeit rather late in the day. Aisake Tarogi managed to escape the clutches of his French club and scampered all the way across the UK to bonnie Scotland to join our merry throng.
Asked how he managed to escape, Aisake revealed the use of a bit of guile eventually won him the day.
"I told them they would get fined if they didn't release me and they would even get their points deducted - and that seemed to do the trick as they let me go," Tarogi said.
Rock on Aisake! Yes he is in very good nick too, looking bigger in the chest than the belly - I sense Aisake means business.
The burly prop also revealed that Norman Ligairi also shot out of France with him, however Norman's headed straight for Ireland and will apparently join the team there.

Deacon Manu during training |
As you all know we had another prop join us late yesterday and he of course was Deacon Manu, arguably the stand out prop competing in Wales at the moment.
I paused this morning to ask him the truth in the rumour he was initially headed to Wales.
"I was never going to play for Wales, though they did want me. For me it was always going to be Fiji and now i'm able to get my dual citizenship I'm absolutely thrilled," Deacon said.
Whilst Deacon's father is a New Zealand Maori his mother hails from Ba, however he's unsure exactly which village - someone must know I'm sure.
Anyway tomorrow's the big day, the naming of the team to take on Scotland and there's been keen interest in Fiji's line up among the media here.
Scotland, bless them, seem so confident that they named their squad two days ago enabling our team of video analysts and back up staff to disect the form of each and every player. By all accounts they don't seem the least bit interested in Fiji's line-up - supreme confidence or pure folly?
We'll know come Saturday.
The other thing you may also know by now is that coach Glen Ella has chosen Seremaia Bai to captain the Flying Fijians against Scotland.
It's a choice that seems to have gone down very well with everyone.
At devotion this evening Sam Domoni revealed the last time he was in Scotland, back in 1995 with the NSW Waratahs, how he stood up infront of a team that boasted half the Wallabies squad - David Campese, Phil Kearns, Nick Farr Jones et al - and testified before them.
The team had been through a horrendous week with sickness as they prepared to face Scotland. But just before the game Sam got up and read Psalm 18 verse 32 - it is God who arms me with strength.
That afternoon the Waratahs played out of their skins and whipped the Scots 45-17.
Talking about whipping, poor Josefa Domolailai and young Josh Matavesi apparently got up to some sort of mischief this evening and so, as is the norm, were made to lie down while their team mates stepped on each of their stomachs.
Young Josh took it in his stride however I wasn't sure if Domolailai was laughing or crying - though if big Sam Domoni stepped on me I'd simply be squashed.
Moce mada.
