Disciplined services top pools at Uprising 7s on Day One
20 January, 2012
The disciplined services all made an impact on Day One of the 2012 Uprising Fiji International 7s Festival as Police, Army and Wardens all topped their respective pools. However it was tournament hosts Uprising who were the pick of the teams as they thrashed defending champions Red Rock 29-5 to qualify as top players in their pool.
Surprisingly the young Aussie Thunderbolts were the pick of the overseas teams being the only ‘off-shore’ team to qualify for the Cup competition. Samoa and Auckland couldn’t manage a win between them and both teams finished as wooden spooners in their respective pools.
Play on Day Two gets underway at the National Stadium at 9:00 AM.
