Digicel Cup suspensions and transfers

One citing last weekend, during round four of the Digicel Cup, brings to three the total number of players currently on suspension this week. Nadi Under 20 player Temo Talebula was cited last weekend by Match Commissioner Amal Prasad for punching an opponent during the under 20 round four fixture between Nadi and Northland. For his troubles Talebula was suspended from all levels of the game for two weeks and will miss this weekend and next weekend’s round of matches.
Still under suspension from round three are Northland U20 player Eminoni Vere and Navosa senior player Ropate Labalaba. Both players will be eligible to play again come round six next week.
Players currently on two yellow cards are Nadi’s John Jackson, Navosa’s Alivereti Bure and Ovalau’s Apenisa Qiri. Should any of these players receive a third yellow card then they are likely to appear before the Games Committee for a disciplinary hearing.
Meanwhile there’s been movement in the transfer department over the past week with former Nadroga registered players Jack Volavola, Nacanieli Bose , Jope Vocea and Jovesa Sigatabu switching allegiance to provincial neighbours Navosa.
And Digicel Cup leaders Suva continue to bolster their playing squad with the inclusion this week of former national scrumhalf Aporosa Vata of the Police Rugby Club and Army Green’s Nemani Turagaulu.
