13 January, 2012
The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) today named the 12-member Digicel Barbarians team to participate in next week’s Uprising Fiji International 7’s Festival.
The tournament, which will be held at the National Stadium in Suva, will feature sixteen top local and overseas teams giving coaches Alivereti Dere and Eddie Waqa a great opportunity to test combinations and view the ability of top local players in action in a competitive environment.
FRU chief executive officer Manasa Baravilala believes the tournament will be a major test for the players in the Digicel Barbarians team.
“The standard of competition in our own local tournaments is always first class, so what better place to test our top national players than at the Uprising Fiji 7s tournament.”
