Digicel Babas to play in Uprising 7s

The Fiji Rugby Union has named two teams to compete in 7s tournaments in Fiji and Australia this weekend.
The Digicel Fiji Barbarians will be in action this Friday and Saturday in the inaugural Uprising Fiji International 7s.
The shadow national team has been drawn in a pool which includes Wardens and Police who, playing as Namosi One and Namosi Two respectively, have won both legs of the Fiji TV Provincial 7s Series - Namosi Two winning last November's Lautoka 7s and Namosi One winning the Compac Sigatoka 7s last Saturday.
Other international teams playing in the tournament include Samoa, the US Grizzlies, Les Bleu (France), Ponsonby (NZ), NZ Maori and New Caledonia.

Meanwhile a total of 11 players have been named in the South Seas Drifters team to participate in the Darwin 7s where a purse of $65, 000 will be on offer – making the tournament one of the richest in the Southern Hemisphere.
Although played in a region traditionally dominated by ‘Aussie Rules’, the Darwin 7s has expanded to such an extent in the last few years that teams are coming from throughout Asia Pacific, and as far afield as Africa.
Teams that have participated in the tournament over the years include national teams that compete on the IRB World 7s Series circuit such as Australia, Samoa, Fiji, South Africa, Kenya, Japan and Hong Kong to name a few.
The South Sea Drifters team has a strong affiliation with the Fiji Rugby Union and members of the Digicel Fiji 7s team have used the Darwin 7s tournament, via the South Sea Drifters team, as a build-up to the Wellington 7s.
The twelfth player in the South Sea Drifters squad is former national sevens player Lepani Nabuliwaqa who has been drafted in on the behest of the South Sea Drifters team management. SOUTH SEA DRIFTERS
