Digicel Fiji 7s coach Alivereti Dere has today named his team to play against Spain in their opening match of the London 7s tomorrow night at 9.30 PM.

The team is:

Team manager Semi Rogoyawa says preparations have gone well throughout the week.

“The team is injury free and we are all looking forward to the last tournament of the 2011/2012 HSBC IRB 7s Series,” Rogoyawa said.

Tonight the team will be presented their jerseys by the First Secretary, Mr Solo Mara, at the Fiji Embassy in London with the Ambassador away in Europe on business.

“We have also invited the Fijian community here in London, through Fiji House, to be in the church service and jersey presentation on Friday evening.”

Fiji currently lies in second place with 139 points behind series leaders New Zealand who has 150 points.

The players have also been flying the flag for Fiji off the pitch with their demeanour which has impressed tournament hosts the Rugby Football Union as tournament organizer Pam Cartwright revealed after the players had attended a media outreach event at a local club.

“Just want to say that your 7’s guys have been outstanding,” Cartwright said.

“They attended the outreach yesterday at Grasshoppers RFC and were very well received – they also presented the Club with a shirt which they thought was fantastic.”

Following their match against Spain the Digicel Fiji 7s team the meets Zimbabwe at 12.36 AM before taking on Wales at 5.22 AM on Sunday morning (Fiji time).
