Baravilala appointed FRU CEO

The former chairman of Air Terminal Services and Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji, Manasa Baravilala, has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU). Baravilala has held senior management positions in the airline industry having previously worked as Manager Passenger Sales based in Los Angeles, USA and Air Fiji where he was appointed Director Marketing and Deputy CEO.
Hailing from the island of Lakeba within the Lau province, Baravilala has also held senior management positions in various other organisations including as Regional Director (Americas) for the Fiji Visitors Bureau.
Baravilala has a strong background in rugby having been a former Fiji Secondary School rep, a Suva rugby club rep as well as playing club rugby in the USA.
He currently serves as a Director and Board Member for Fijian Holdings Trust Management Limited, Fiji National University and the National Training & Productivity Centre.
While he will officially start at Rugby House from 1 December, Baravilala will formally take over from current acting FRU CEO, Pio Tikoisuva, when Tikoisuva’s contract expires on 31 December this year.
