MACUATA BEATS TAVUA
Tavua faces relegation after being defeated at their home ground by Macuata 27-17 during the Digicel Cup at Garvey Park yesterday.

Tavua were disappointed with the outcome as they controlled the game but could not manage a win.

Tavua’s Sakiusa Nasau scored the first try for his side but Macuata’s Peka Samisoni was the star in the first half managing two tries with a conversion for Macuata to lead 12-5 in the first half.

Macuata side was unbeatable in the second half with tries awarded to Lino Saunitoga and Masi Naoma with try converted by Isoa Rokobuli giving them a 24-5 lead.

Tavua fought back in 60th minute with Waisake Qauqau and Jo Vuso scoring a try each and a conversion from Semisi Vasua to edge closer 24-17.

A penalty on 69th minute sealed the deal for Macuata giving them a 27-17 win against Tavua at Garvey.

Macuata coach Petero Baba said it was a good match, because the boys actually created history, making their first win ever in Viti Levu.

Baba said he was really proud of the boys but they have to work hard in their next game against Lautoka in order to move up in the points table.

He said they wanted to get more supporters to be part of their upcoming match since it will really boost the morale of the team.
