Rewa Ready for GP Batteries Promotion Relegation 12 September, 2012 Rewa is gearing up for the GP Batteries Promotion Relegation this Saturday against Namosi at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park.

The team didn’t perform very well in the Digicel Cup competition losing all their matches and ending up at the bottom of the table with two points. 

They now have to fight their way back into the major union competition but have one obstacle in their way, B Division Winners, Namosi. 

Rewa Team Manager Inia Tubui says that their preparations are the same as the Digicel Cup Competition. 

“We haven’t changed our preparations for the GP Batteries Promotion Relegation, we know that Namosi will be out to beat us but we have maintained our game codes and structure from the Digicel Cup” he said. 

The Namosi side is laced with Fiji 7s reps namely Lepani Botia and Joji Ragamate but Tubui says that they see no threat in that. 

“They may have big names in their team, but that does not worry us, actually we respect them for that, because that’s all part of rugby”. 

“Rewa is a very young team, and the only big name we have in our side is the Almighty God”. 

The GP Batteries Promotion Relegation match this Saturday will be a repeat of 2009 when both teams met and Rewa successfully defeated Namosi for them to be promoted to the major union competition. 

If Rewa fails to win the GP Batteries Promotion Relegation they will have to face the daunting task of climbing back to the top next year. 

The GP Batteries Promotion Relegation will kick off at 3pm this Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori and tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
