FRU sponsors
The companies and organisations below contribute in monetary and value-in-kind to the Fiji Rugby Union. Total sponsorship from the private sector amounts to some F$4.5million (US$3million) per annum in addition to grants from the Fiji Government and the International Rugby Board.
 | Partners The Fiji Government is a long-term supporter of rugby, and contributed a grant of F$500,000 to Fiji’s Rugby World Cup campaign in 2007. |
 | The International Rugby Board grants cover various development programmes, the High Performance Unit, as well as some additional competition funding. In 2006, IRB grants to the FRU totalled $1.2million. |
 | Platinum Sponsors Digicel are the naming rights sponsors for the Digicel Fiji 7s team (the RWC 7s champions and winners of the IRB 7s World Series in 2005-06). Digicel have been with Fiji Rugby since late 2005. |
 | FMF took over the reins of the national 15s team (the FMF Flying Fijians) in mid-2005 with a sponsorship that underpinned Fiji’s fabulous performance at the 2007 Rugby World Cup. |
 | KooGa have been the FRU’s official on-field apparel since late 2005 and provide the playing uniforms for all our national teams, from the FMF Flying Fijians down to schoolboy and junior level. |
 | Tappoo are the sole distributors of Nike products in Fiji and supply the FRU with all off-field sports uniforms. Tappoo first came on board with Fiji Rugby in 2003 and have increased their presence each year since. |
 | Colonial have been a long-time sponsor of Fiji Rugby, and are currently in the fifth year of sponsoring the Colonial Cup, which is Fiji’s only elite, semi-professional competition. Prior to that, Colonial sponsored the Sullivan-Farebrother Trophy. |
 | Gold Sponsors Nike are FRU’s Official Footwear for boots, canvas and sports sandals. Through Tappoo, Nike have been with FRU since 2003. |
 | BP have sponsored the FRU’s own 7s series every year since 2002. The BP 7s Series has been directly responsible for identifying and nurturing young talent in preparation for international duty. |
 | Air Pacific are the FRU’s Official Carrier and have been in that capacity since 2002 and held other sponsorship positions with FRU prior to that. |
 | Pepsi-Cola is the Official Refreshment of the FRU having come on board in mid-2007. Also included with this arrangement is Gatorade as FRU’s Official Sports Drink, and Aquifer as FRU’s Official Water. |
 | Asco Motors are one of two Development Partners for FRU, providing the necessary vehicles to ensure the Rugby Development Unit can get to all parts of Fiji to do their work. Asco have been in this role since 2002. |
 | Sanyo have sponsored the FRU’s main provincial competition, the Sanyo Cup, since 2006. This is another sponsorship that comes through the Tappoo Group. |
 | Media Partners Fiji Sun have been the FRU’s Official Newspaper since 2005. |
 | Viti FM is one of FRU’s two co-exclusive radio stations. |
 | Bula FM is one of FRU’s two co-exclusive radio stations. |
 | Silver Sponsors WG have been the FRU’s Official Freight Forwarder since 2003. |
 | Pacific Sun came on board in late 2007 as one of FRU’s two Development Partners, providing domestic flights to FRU officials, players and coaches. |
 | United Apparel are FRU’s Official No.1 Uniforms, supplying blazers, dress shirts, sulus and trousers to our national reps. |
 | Dahia Shoes are FRU’s Official Dress Shoes, supplying dress shoes and sandals to our national reps. |
 | FMF Chow Noodles sponsor Primary Schools Rugby via the FRU. This began in 2007. |
 | Oceanic Communications are the FRU’s Official Online Partner, looking after website development and managing the email system. |
